Stafford Library
New and Noteworthy

Stafford Library will be closed beginning Monday 3/16/20

COVID-19 Update:

Beginning Monday, March 16, by order of the Town of Stafford's First Selectman and Stafford's Emergency Management Department, Stafford Library will be closed to the public until further notice.

For your convenience all fines will be waived and due dates extended until the library reopens. All programs, events and meetings have been canceled.

Curbside Pickup

Stafford Library is pleased to announce that beginning Monday May 4th, we will be offering curbside pickup of library materials!

This service will be available Monday - Friday from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm.

To ensure maximum safety of library staff and library patrons, the following guidelines have been established:

• Library patrons can request up to 10 books or other materials in two ways; either by placing holds using our online catalog or by calling the library. The patron will be notified when their hold is ready.

• Holds can only be made for items owned by the Stafford Library (it is not possible to borrow items from other libraries at this time).

• Patrons will call the library (Mon-Fri between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm) to let us know they are in the driveway in front of the library. Patrons will stay in their vehicles.

• Staff will take the patron's bagged items outside and place them on a table/cart that will be located under the overhang at the front entrance.

• Staff will go back inside.

• Once staff is inside the library, patrons can get out of their vehicle and retrieve their bagged items.

• Patrons who have items to return should put them in our drop box. We ask that patrons do not to enter the library.

• Returned items will be sanitized and quarantined for one week before being checked in and placed back into circulation.

• Items must be returned at Stafford Library.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we establish this new way to safely provide you with service.

Please call us if you have any questions, 860-684-2852.
